This production of L'heure Espagnole was created in collaboration with The Santa Fe Opera's Apprentice Scenes. Although L'heure Espagnole is not performed frequently, Ravel's music is lusciously curated for comedic movement onstage. In performing only the last 4 scenes, we used iconic Opera characters as inspiration to highlight the simultaneous sensuality and comedy embedded in the music and in the libretto.
